Wharton Professor Shows Profit in Happy Employees
Wharton finance professor Alex Edmans found more evidence for the growing theory that happy employees are more productive, better performing employees — and add significantly to the bottom line. In a research paper reported upon in Knowledge@Wharton, he compared the stock returns of companies known to have high employee satisfaction levels with the more general market and showed an average 8% higher rate of return.
