Review of Wowisms, Words of Wisdom for Dreamers and Doers
by Ron Rubin and Stuart Avery Gold
Review by C.S. Clarke, Ph.D.
In my review of Dragon Spirit by these same authors, I said: "This is one of those books you need to read with a highlighter pen in hand." And I had felt the same way about their first Zentrepreneur Guide, Success At Life. Well apparently many others thought the same thing and some wrote very forcefully to the authors about it. So now we have Wowisms in which the authors have selected their best ideas from their other works and put them in the form of a quotes book and added a selection of very wow Zen drawings.
This is the kind of book that you take out along with a meditation cushion, an incense stick and a cup of Republic of Tea "Enlightenment Tea" (made to go with the book and having the same cover illustration). You read one of what they call "proverbs of possibility," you sip your tea, you light your incense and you meditate on living in the wow.
The book and Enlightenment Tea combination (sold separately) make wonderful gifts. I've got a large family. Guess what a lot of them are getting for Christmas. The tea is a wow in and of itself.
Oh, yes, and just in case someone wants to encourage these two delightful Zentrepreneur authors -- I think they're missing a bet if they don't publish some of their wowisms and the drawings in combinations as motivational/inspirational posters.
About the authors of Dragon Spirit:
Ron Rubin and Stuart Avery Gold call themselves "Ministers" of The Republic of Tea. Rather than speak of their organization as a corporation or company, they have created a metaphoric independent state whose employees are "ministers," whose store outlets are "embassies" and whose salespeople are "ambassadors." Their state seems to be founded upon princples drawn from Zen and good entrepreneurial business sense, with a few other ideas thrown in for good measure.
